God says to let Him guide your lifeβnot for you to guide it yourself. Temptation is real, but so is the power of God, which He gives you to choose what is right.
βSo I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you wonβt be doing what your sinful nature craves.β Β βGalatians 5:16 (NLT)
What does it mean to let the Holy Spirit guide your life? Letβs make it simple.Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β
Β Β Who or what is the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth living inside us. When Jesus Christ was crucified and resurrected to secure salvation for all humanity by paying the penalty for sin (death) and defeating it through resurrection. He made a way for us to receive this gift The Holy Spirit. In the Book of John, Jesus promises that God will send the Holy Spirit to help us, teach us, and lead us.
βIf you love me, keep my commands.Β And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you foreverβΒ the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.Β – John 14:15-17 (NIV)
–John 14:26Β
(a quick noteβwhen you see red words in the Bible, it represent the direct spoken words of Jesus Christ, designed to help readers easily locate his teachings and dialogue. I love when I see red words in the bible. If you know you know.)
The advocate intercedes, defends, or acts as a helper, specifically referring to Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The biblical greek word for advocate is (parakletos) isΒ one who pleads another’s cause before a judge. Believe it or not we all will be judged! So when we say, βlet the Holy Spirit guide you,β thatβs the advocate giving you guidance from God The Father, To God The Son, To The Holy Spirit, and told to you straight from God.
We have to put all effort to lean on the Holy Spirit so we can walk by the Spirit to overcome sinful desires. “Walk” implies a continuous, active lifestyle or conduct. This phrase suggests a daily, moment-by-moment reliance on the Holy Spirit for guidance and strength.
Β Β Β Β Did you know that there is an invisible war going on? Thereβs a battle inside us every dayβ Letβs speak on this invisible war.Β
Because your fight has not been with flesh and blood, but with Principalities and The Rulers and The Powers of this dark world and with wicked spirits which are under Heaven.*Β Because of this, put on all the armor of God that you shall be able to confront The Evil One, and when you are ready in all things, you shall stand. –Β Ephesians 6:12-13 (ARA)
Β Β Β Β When it says βBecause your fight has not been with flesh and blood, but with Principalities and The Rulers and The Powers of this dark worldββ¦ That tells us right here there is more going on in this world than we could see.
In the bible Flesh is frequently used as a metaphor for fallen human nature, worldly perspectives, or self-reliant living, rather than merely referring to the physical body. – google
Principalities in the Bible (often “principalities and powers”) refer toΒ high-ranking spiritual beings or authorities, typically interpreted as demonic forces under Satan’s control, operating in the unseen realm. These entities oppose God’s purpose and influence nations or human affairs, though they are ultimately subject to Christ’s authority. – google
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;Β idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factionsΒ and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. -Galatians 5:19-21 (NIV)
Donβt be carnal minded!Β What makes a person carnal minded ?Β Β
The carnal mind is not subject to the law of God. The carnal mind is not subject to the law of faith. Carnal minds always gives you reasoning and motives how it can benefit yourself. (Looking for a reward) Donβt trust the carnal mind. (Sel-fish)
Β Β Β Β Β How do you know when you are being carnal minded?Β When you lean to your carnal thoughts it leads to fear. God doesnβt give fear. Wrestling with the flesh is no joke. Itβs being on Satanβs side.
βThe flesh is the desire to please yourself as opposed to pleasing God. We all battle with the flesh. Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the desire. Please donβt misread that. He didnβt say you wonβt have the desire. Because the flesh wants what it wants. So you will have the desire but the spirit will override it. Donβt read the verse in reverse. Donβt read to get rid of the desire of the flesh walk in the spirit. Thatβs backwards. Walk in the spirit and it will overrule the desire of the flesh. It will overrule it. The capacity to do what you need to do or what God wants done will be activated in your experience as you walk in the Spiritβ -Pastor Tony Evans
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
Mercy:
Key Aspects of Biblical Mercy definitionΒ is God not giving sinners the punishment they deserve, while grace is giving them what theyΒ do notΒ deserve.
In His grace, God is willing to forgive us and bless us, even though we fall short of living righteously.Β

Thank you for your protection being undefeated, victorious, thank you for your word, your perfect everlasting patience, mercy, and grace. In Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior Amen.
“Take a moment today to examine your heart. Ask yourself what youβre still holding onto. Instead give it to Jesus. Pray honestly, surrender fully, and choose to place your trust, your life, and your eternity in His hands. Ask Him to forgive your sins. He is a forgiving God.Β Tomorrow isnβt promise

-Galatians 5:19(NIV) starts off saying “The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality,”
What is sexual immorality?
Sexual immorality in the Bible refers to any sexual activity occurring outside a covenant marriage between one man and one woman. Often translated from the Greek word porneia, it represents a “surrendering of sexual purity”. It acts as a blanket term for violations of sexual purity, including premarital sex, adultery, pornography, and other acts contrary to biblical design.
Several Examples of Sexual Immorality found in scripture along with brief explanations and supporting verses for reflection and study.
Adultery is when a married person breaks their promise of loyalty by having a romantic or physical relationship with someone who is not their husband or wife
Exodus 20:14 (NIV) β βYou shall not commit adultery.
Fornication (Premarital Sex)
Fornication refers to having sexual intercourse when you are not married to the person.
1 Corinthians 6:18 (KJV) β Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
Β Exodus 22:19 NKJV β Whoever lies with an animal shall surely be put to death.
Incest: Forbidden in Leviticus 18.
Leviticus 18:22 (GNT) β No man is to have sexual relations with another man; God hates that.
Prostitution/Commercial Sex Work:
1 Corinthians 6:15-16 β 15Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never!Β 16Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, βThe two will become one flesh.β
Lust/Pornography:
-Matthew 5:28 (NLT) β But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Now that we understand what sexual immorality means, letβs go back to the Scripture.
Galatians 5:19 (NIV) β 19The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
What does debauchery mean ?
debauchery refers to excessive, unrestrained indulgence in sensual pleasures, typically involving heavy alcohol consumption, promiscuous sex, or drug use. It implies immoral or decadent behavior, often acting as a wild, uncontrolled spree. –Β google A.I overview

When reading make sure to get a full understanding of words. Even if you think you know. If you don’t take the time to you could be missing out on a important jewel.
Let’s brake down this scripture.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heartΒ and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. –Proverbs 3:5-6Β
At the beginning of this biblical passage. What does the word Trust mean in the bible? Β Trust means (properly) to hie for refuge – biblehub.com
Β Lets get the meaning for the 2 words in the trust definition hie & refuge.
Hie meaning is to go quickly. – Google
Now what does the word refuge mean ?Β Refuge means 1.Β shelter or protection from danger or distressΒ 2. a place that provides shelter or protectionΒ 3. something to which one has recourse in difficulty.Β – Webster
I take this and apply it now when re reading
–Proverbs 3:5-6Β “5 Trust in the Lord with all your heartΒ and lean not on your own understanding;”
I substitute ‘Trust” with the definition I got which says “go quickly for shelter or protection from danger or distress” in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
His directions are to Go quickly to Him for shelter or protection from danger or distress with ALL OF YOUR HEART and don’t even try to understand or think you know what He will do for you in your time of difficulty. Focus in all and everything you do and yield to His authority, control, and will. When you submit to Him in everything He will make your paths straight.
You should know from your own past experiences already. When you Trust in God he will never fail. Walk by faith and not by sight. What ever you been through.Β He always got you through. He never changes. Here are some cross reference scriptures
God is our mighty fortress, always ready to help in times of trouble. – Psalm 46:1 (CEV)
Depend fully on God, lean on Him and fully trust who He say He is.
-Doubt your default no matter what you may think according to your flesh. Don’t FOCUS on your problems. Focus on the Trust you have in HIM. Not what He can do. Focus = Trust in who HE is.
– Draw near to Him in all your ways. Build a relationship with Him. Take the time out to educate yourself on His word. Jesus is the one and only true savior.
God Bless. Stay Original !
