Blood Relatives vs. Spiritual Relatives: Understanding the Difference
There is a difference between blood relatives and spiritual relatives. The feeling of having bad blood with a relative—being treated like you’re not related, or even being the one treating them that way—doesn’t feel good. It’s wrong.
Many people say they believe in God, but do they truly have faith in Him? Real faith requires action. When we choose faith, God gives us a law to follow so He can work through our dilemmas. Faith must show up in our day-to-day lives.
Check the Posture
One of the clearest indicators that a person is living for Christ is this:
Living for Christ is a lifestyle of continual forgiveness.
Scripture Reference: Matthew 6:14–15 (NIV)
“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
He means what He says. This is where the posture of a person’s heart becomes visible. God gives us discernment so we can see beyond surface actions.
Scripture Reference: Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
Letting Christ Be Lord Over Everything
When you follow Christ and allow Him to be Lord over every situation in your life, everything works together for the good of His will. He shows us His way—but when we choose not to follow it, we open the door for the enemy to govern our thoughts and actions.
We were never meant to feel down, alone, or isolated. God reminds us He is always present. And we were not designed to live the Christian life alone. Just as God chose our biological families, He also chooses our spiritual families.
Scripture Reference: Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV)
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
A True Spiritual Family
Everyone who is saved, baptized, filled with the Holy Spirit, and walking in their God-given purpose forms a community of believers.
That is my family.
Take a moment today to examine your heart. Ask yourself what you’re still holding onto. Instead, give it to Jesus: Pray honestly, surrender fully, and choose to place your trust, your life, and your eternity in His hands. Ask Him to forgive your sins. He is a forgiving God. Tomorrow isn’t promise
To anyone. Do it —right now—
